Universal Pharmacare Petition

I hope that you have never been forced to choose between buying prescribed medicine and food. Sadly, that's a dilemma for many Ontario families. Some of us have jobs with benefit plans that cover prescriptions. But 2.2 million Ontarians have no drug coverage.

We need to create the province's first universal pharmacare program. Pharmacare is health care - and you shouldn't have to empty your wallet to get the medicine you need.

I am pushing for Ontario to create the country's first universal pharmacare program. Not only is it affordable, we can't afford not to. A universal plan means lower cost, less worry and better health for everyone.

Please sign the petition below to make your voice heard at Queen's Park. Thank you.

To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario;

Whereas prescription medications are a part of health care, and people shouldn't have to empty their wallets or rack up credit card bills to get the medicines they need;

Whereas over 2.2 million Ontarians don't have any prescription drug coverage and one in four Ontarians don't take their medications as prescribed because they cannot afford the cost;

Whereas taking medications as prescribed can save lives and help people live better;

Whereas Canada urgently needs universal and comprehensive national Pharmacare;

We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to support a universal provincial Pharmacare plan for all Ontarians.
