Ontario NDP shares message to mark Bandi Chhor Divas
QUEEN’S PARK -- Interim Ontario NDP Leader Peter Tabuns issued the following greetings to those celebrating Bandi Chhor Divas:
"Today, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru, was freed from an unjust imprisonment at the Gwailor Fort.
As a loyal defender of all, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji arranged the freedom of the 52 Kings who had been detained alongside him after his release.
As we take time to remember this day, we urge everyone to speak out against injustice and support people who are battling for freedom of expression, basic civic rights, or both.
Happy Bandi Chhor Divas."
