Reforming Ontario’s Condo Law Toronto-Danforth’s View Crucial

Published on March 14, 2017

“Our community in Toronto – Danforth is growing quickly and facing challenges. New development means condominium residents make up an increasing proportion of our community, and it’s vital that the voices of condo residents are heard at Queen’s Park.

The province is currently seeking feedback on the first phase of an long overdue overhaul of condominium laws in Ontario—the first in over 16 years

Some of the initial proposals include:

Measures to improve condo board transparency and training

  • Mandatory updates for owners from boards about your corporation, including its finances

  • Clearer rules regarding records retention and access for owners

I want to hear your ideas about how we can update condominium regulations, and better protect condo owners and residents.
