Hwy 413 – The Road to the Climate Crisis: Paved with Bad Intentions

I hope you can join me for “Hwy 413 – The Road to the Climate Crisis: Paved with Bad Intentions” this Thursday evening at 7:30.

Although COVID has been front and centre in the last two years, climate change is here, escalating and affecting our lives.  We have all seen the evidence: increasing heat waves, forest fires, droughts and floods in our new climate changed world.

At a local level the premier’s plan to build the $8 billion Highway 413 through the Greenbelt will mean a hotter world faster, higher taxes, less money for transit, not to mention the destruction of prime farmland and loss of natural habitat. He is actively undermining our response to the climate crisis.

Panelists, Lana Goldberg, Ontario Climate Program Manager at Environmental Defence, and Divya Arora, Community Engagement Organizer, Sustainable Communities, David Suzuki Foundation, who are actively involved in the fight to stop this destructive project will fill us in on what is going on, what the impacts will be and how we can fight back.

Join us on Thursday, January 27th at 7:30 pm
