Metrolinx, the agency that runs GO trains on the rail lines through our community is planning to dramatically increase the frequency of train traffic. They will also be converting their trains from diesel to electric. This project, which will help congestion in the GTA, will also be accompanied by months of construction. In some areas that will mean more noise.
Last week, they issued their report on the public assessment process of the new project that could add eight stations, including one next to Gerrard Square.
A 30-day public review of the report has started. Any public comment on the report has to be made by October 16.
It’s important that our community has a say in the consultation, and I want to hear your thoughts. I’m organizing a public meeting in Toronto-Danforth to get your feedback on the report. Representatives from Metrolinx will also be in attendance to answer any questions you have.
