Whereas there is a real housing supply and affordability crisis in Ontario;
Whereas neither Bill 97 Helping Homebuyers, Protecting Tenants, nor previous decisions to eliminate rent control, permit sprawl on the Greenbelt, and abuse their Minister's Zoning Order powers are solving this housing crisis,
Whereas the Government’s actions so far harm our farmland and wetlands,
Whereas affordable housing supply is not increasing, but housing costs are.
Therefore, be it resolved that we the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to actually put in place measures that will increase the availability of affordable housing and to stop all plans to remove protected land from the Greenbelt and to protect existing farmland.
