Known to many as the former President of the Toronto & York Region Labour Council and former Chair of the Council of Canadians. But before he took on those roles, when he was head of the Carpenters Local, the City of Toronto was putting together its program to make commercial buildings energy efficient. John knew the job creation potential of that program and spoke out loudly for the labour movement to get people to work while taking on the climate crisis.
