TAKING ON THE TRIPLE THREAT: Jobs, Affordability and the Climate Crisis
In my conversations at the door in the riding, through email correspondence and meeting with constituents it is clear that people are feeling overwhelmed with so much chaos surrounding us, including:
- job losses & a jobs crisis for many young people
- the earth continues to heat up
- the climate crisis
- lack of affordability... everything is costing more and more
- the global effects of the wars and precariousness of the Middle East
But we cannot allow that helplessness to consume us, rather we need to take action now.
There is one approach that can help with all of these disruptions in our lives. The move to an energy system that leaves coal, oil and gas behind can cut cost of living, put thousands to work and make big gains in the fight to stop global heating. It can also take us out of the energy system that is vulnerable to shocks when war breaks out in the middle east.
Please join me and my co-host, Dr. Samantha Green, a family physician in Toronto, a long-time climate activist and former federal Toronto Centre NDP candidate, for “Taking on the Triple Threat: Jobs, Affordability and the Climate Crisis” an on-line webinar on Wednesday, May 27 starting at 7 pm.
