Statement from Toronto—Danforth MPP Peter Tabuns
TORONTO – Toronto—Danforth MPP Peter Tabuns issued the following statement on the tragic shooting that unfolded on Danforth Avenue Sunday night:
“Today, my community is struggling to make sense of despicable and senseless violence on our doorsteps. The Danforth is our home. I know this strong, caring community will come together now to heal.
To the victims of this violence, and their loved ones, I offer you my deepest condolences and my hope that the injured and the traumatized will find the strength to recover from physical injuries and emotional trauma. And to the first responders, emergency and police services, and hospital workers, I offer the appreciation and thanks of our community.
The Danforth is a wonderful community, and has been a safe home to families for many generations. I know that as a unified, loving community, we will find answers together, offer each other strength and understanding, and heal together.”
