Here is a list of some of the METROLINX/ONTARIO-LINE issues that Peter has been working on for the past few years:

Ontario Line construction: Businesses in east Toronto’s Pape Village struggling to survive
“Local MPP Peter Tabuns agrees and is urging affected businesses to seek compensation from Metrolinx for their losses due to the Ontario Line work. The provincial transportation agency told CP24 that it does offer compensation and support to businesses affected by transit construction projects, but on a case-by-case basis “to ensure the right solutions are in place for each business.” “The community shouldn’t be a sacrifice zone,” added Tabuns. “This is a $20 billion project. Metrolinx can afford to provide assistance to people who are being negatively impacted by it. They can afford it and they should do it now.” The Toronto-Danforth representative went on to say that Metrolinx does not have a great track record of being pro-active when it comes to preventing or even reducing these kinds of negative impacts on communities. “I think (they need) to learn from what’s happened on Eglinton. You can’t neglect local businesses,” Tabuns said. “Everyone wants better transit in the city but for the areas, the communities where the construction is going on there needs to be consideration and investment to protect them so they don’t pay a really high price.”

Toronto residents detail Metrolinx construction pains | CBC News
“The area's MPP, Peter Tabuns (Toronto—Danforth), says he went door-to-door in the neighbourhood last weekend and noticed dust falling "like snow." In addition to noise, traffic and vibration complaints, he said he's also hearing about basement flooding that some neighbours near the site believe has been brought on by contractors blocking drain covers. "No one is saying they shouldn't be building," Tabuns said. "The question is: are you putting in place the policies and procedures that could minimize the harm?"

East-end Toronto residents concerned with early Ontario Line construction issues
“Peter Tabuns, the NDP MPP for Toronto–Danforth, said he has been trying to get action from Metrolinx as his office continues to receive inquiries. “Why is it that the neighbors are the construction supervisors? Why isn’t Metrolinx looking out at its contractors and making sure they deliver a safe product? I find that extraordinary,” he said. “If they can’t be attentive to a situation that’s as sensitive as this with all these children, with a childcare centre, with safety issues, if they can’t pay attention there, what are they going to do in the rest of the line?”

Toronto-Danforth MPP Peter Tabuns said people understand more transit is needed in Toronto and that will cause some disruption. “However, I think it is critical for anybody developing that transit to minimize damage and to consult with the community to reduce conflict and get the best solution,” Tabuns said. “I don’t believe that the consultation needed has been carried out and I am shocked by the scale of tree removal.” […] Tabuns said the issue is an democratic issue. “This is a democracy and drawing in the public, and giving them a chance to improve on plans is fundamental,” he said. “Right now, with this particular example, they are not doing that.”
NDP MPPs left out of Ontario Line tree removal notices demand explanation from Ford government – The Toronto Star, Feb 9, 2023
NDP MPPs demand explanation over exclusion from tree notices
“These kinds of directives undermine public faith and trust in Metrolinx and new transit projects,” wrote MPPs Peter Tabuns (Toronto-Danforth) and Kristyn Wong-Tam (Toronto Centre) in a letter Thursday to Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney. “Metrolinx does not exist to serve the partisan interests of a Premier and his party,” the MPPs wrote. “We trust that an explanation will be provided in due course.” […] Tabuns and Wong-Tam have been vocal critics of Metrolinx’s plans in their ridings, which include the removal of dozens of trees, drawing outcry from residents who say Metrolinx can build the subway without destroying treasured green space. At an event in January 2021, Tabuns argued Metrolinx is “really just a front” for the Doug Ford administration. […] In the letter, Tabuns and Wong-Tam write that by excluding them from the notice, Mulroney impeded them from fulfilling their role as MPPs. “It is our job to help bring local voices into the planning process, and help the public understand why and when disruptions relating to transit construction are occurring.” “We cannot help build public confidence in new transit construction when the process is openly hostile to our local communities and our very job as Members of Provincial Parliament.”
Documents show costs for Ontario Line have doubled to almost $20 billion – CityNews, Nov 23, 2022
Documents show costs for Ontario Line have doubled to almost $20 billion
“At at billion dollars a kilometre, this is a really sharp price increase, and a lot of people have said to me it looks like this project is coming off the rails,” said interim NDP leader Peter Tabuns. “I think the government does owe Ontarians an explanation, does owe this legislature an explanation as to why the costs have risen so sharply.”
Save Jimmie Simpson Park supporters call for Health Impact Assessment of plans for Ontario Line – Beach Metro Community News, July 2, 2021
“I didn’t know how badly you can mess up public transit,” added Toronto-Danforth MPP Peter Tabuns, who also spoke at the rally.”

Toronto’s Leslieville residents band together to bury the Ontario Line
“The 2K Corridor Community Action Group is aiming to shift that conversation. The group’s initial meeting — which had between 100 and 130 people in attendance — was attended by local political leaders Toronto-Danforth Coun. Paula Fletcher and Toronto-Danforth MPP Peter Tabuns, who urged residents to attend upcoming public open houses over the next few months and make their voices heard. But Tabuns said it’s important to make it clear that Leslieville doesn’t object to transit. “We have to constantly be clear to people how much we know we need transit ... but that we oppose things that do unnecessary damage,” he said. “This can be built underground.”
