QUEEN’S PARK — Official Opposition NDP Leader Marit Stiles released a statement following the Globe and Mail’s revelation of a recorded phone conversation between a former Conservative minister and Canada Christian College president Charles McVety:
“Another day, another example of the Ford Conservatives doing sketchy favours for their friends.
Something is very wrong when you have a cabinet minister secretly promising the Premier’s friend accreditation for his controversial college while the minister and Ford himself said publicly that it would happen through the proper channels.
It strains credulity that Doug Ford didn’t know this was happening. People have no reason to trust a government that is very clearly working for its friends and insiders, and no one else.”
